Accompaniment and Assistance

Under law, the Israel Airports Authority is responsible for providing the physical infrastructure for service providers to provide services to passengers requiring assistance.

The service includes accompaniment and assistance for passengers requiring assistance throughout their “passenger process”. The terminal’s passenger halls are accessible and adapted for passengers requiring assistance; the terminal’s passageways have been expanded to enable smooth and convenient movement; and the terminal has accessible restrooms and directional signage.

All services provided in the terminal have accessible stations marked with standard signage. The sidewalks in the parking lot are sloped and adapted for wheelchair transportation. Wheelchairs are available free of charge for passengers requiring assistance. As part of the service, assistance can be obtained from the terminal staff by calling the on-duty manager’s office at 08-6360976.

  • In accordance with legal requirements, guidance systems for passengers with disabilities have been installed at several dedicated service desks in the passenger halls.

    1. Induction Loop Guidance System – The system installed in the terminal is designed for individuals with hearing aids as well as for those without hearing aids. The system is installed in both pedestrian and vehicle departure/arrival lanes.

    System points for departing passengers:

    • Milgam (financial services) desks.
    • Passport control desks).
    • Customs.
    • Duty-free.
    • Egypt departure gate desk (exit tax scanning station).

    System points for arriving passengers:

    • Security checkpoints.
    • Passport control.
    • Customer service desk.
    • Milgam (financial services) desks.
    • Customs desk.


      2. “Step Hear” Audio Guidance System:

    An audio guidance system designed for visually impaired and blind individuals is installed along the arrival and departure routes. The system can be used with a wristband or an app, which identifies the installed device and activates a messaging system. When the passenger arrives at a specific station, the system sends a relevant message to the app. The message includes an explanation of the current location; instructions on how many steps to take and which direction to go; and specific instructions for actions such as presenting a passport or placing luggage, etc.

  • Individuals with certain disabilities who are eligible for expedited service will present a certificate (either digital or physical) granting them an exemption from queuing to service representatives at the terminal.

    • Benches.
    • Drinking fountains and beverage vending machines.
    • Service desks.
    • Wheelchairs.
  • - By taxi from the city of Eilat.

    - Egged bus lines 15 or 16 – from Eilat’s central bus station.

    - Egged bus line 30 – from Ramon Airport.

    For those arriving by car via the terminal access road, on the right is a paid parking lot operated by the Israel Airports Authority. The parking lot has 5 marked and designated accessible parking spaces, offering free parking for up to 5 hours for a passenger holding an accessible parking permit. The parking lot’s sidewalks are sloped and adapted for wheelchair transportation.

    Please note: Parking on the road is prohibited in areas designated for the use of public transportation. Vehicles parked in these areas will be towed. The terminal itself has two designated accessible parking spaces, one in the exit lane and the other in the entrance lane. Vehicle parking at the terminal itself is only permitted for the duration of the passenger departure/arrival process. Vehicles found parked at the terminal will be towed!
