The Israel Airports Authority announces updates regarding the operation of the Jordan River and Yitzhak Rabin border crossings during Eid al-Fitr 2026.

Passengers are advised that from 17 March 2026 until 23 March 2026 (inclusive), it will not be possible to exit Israel to Jordan with a private vehicle via the Jordan River and Yitzhak Rabin border crossings.

Passengers traveling from Israel to Jordan via the Jordan River border crossing, without a private vehicle, may use a shuttle transportation service operating between the Israeli side and the Jordanian side, at a cost of 8 NIS per passenger.

New Guidelines for Departing Israel to Jordan or Egypt with a Private Vehicle

For departure from Israel to Jordan or Egypt with a private vehicle, a vehicle registration license translated into English must be presented.

According to the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety, as of 01 March 2026, travelers must arrive at the border crossing with a vehicle registration license that has been translated in advance (prior to arrival).

It is emphasized that as of this date, vehicle license translation services will no longer be provided at the following border crossings:

• Yitzhak Rabin Border Crossing
• Menachem Begin (Taba) Border Crossing
• Jordan River Border Crossing

Vehicle license translation services are available at 64 authorized photo stations nationwide, providing the service on behalf of the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety.

On the following dates, the Jordan River border crossing will close at 16:00, and passengers will be admitted for crossing up to 14:30 at the latest:

November 21, 2023 – Tuesday.

December 12, 2023 – Tuesday.

January 2, 2024 – Tuesday.
