The Planning & Engineering Division is the planning and execution arm of the Airports Authority for setting up engineering projects in all the airfields, border terminals and other sites under the Authority’s responsibility.
The Division acts as a project management office, and is responsible for running the project from the planning stage to handover to the user.
The Division covers all areas of engineering activity.
Planning: preparation of outline plans, construction plans, master plans and statutory items.
Environmental quality and community contacts: monitoring noise and air pollution, procedures for operating facilities to prevent hazards, educational projects and dialogue with the surrounding society.
Buildings and infrastructures: setting up projects in the areas of construction, infrastructures and civil engineering.
Paving: setting up projects dealing with paving, specializing in runways and aircraft parking aprons.
Electronics: setting up projects dealing with electronics, command and control, specializing in aircraft navigational aids.
Electricity and air conditioning: setting up projects dealing with electricity and air conditioning, specializing in power stations and energy centers.
Mechanical systems: planning and setting up mechanical systems, specializing in systems for conveying baggage and the characterization of vehicles unique to airfields.
