Strategy: to maintain and enhance financial strength, taking into consideration all the external factors that affect the Authority.
Functions of the Division
1. To assist all the Divisions in the Authority to manage their activities on an economic basis as far as possible.
2. To carry out regular activities requisite for the provision of services to customers, suppliers, domestic airfield staff, and border terminals.
The Division is split into three units: (1) Finance; (2) Economic and Budgets; (3) Trade, Assets and Business Development.
1. Areas of responsibility of the Finance Unit:
1.1. Overall responsibility for the Authority’s income, from implementation of contracts and installations, to collection.
1.2. Managing the Authority’s current cash flow system.
1.3. Comprehensive handling of the Authority’s expenses, exercising continual control with reference to contract terms.
1.4. Preparing quarterly and annual financial statements.
1.5. Managing insurance arrangements for all the Authority’s sites.
1.6. Participating in negotiating teams, committees and test teams, and assisting with commercial tenders.
1.7. Providing specific solutions for financial issues arising throughout the Authority’s work.
2. Areas of responsibility of the Economic & Budgets Unit
2.1. Preparing the normal budget and the development budget each year, according to the Authority’s various sites.
2.2. Participating in various committees and teams.
2.3. Ongoing monitoring of the Authority’s investment activity.
2.4. Collecting information and statistical data.
2.5. Initiating and updating fees and tariffs of the Airports Authority.
3. Areas of responsibility of the Trade, Assets and Business Development Unit
3.1. Managing tender procedures, from the initiation stage to the announcement of the winner.
3.2. Supervising the proper ongoing activity of Authority franchisees and dealing with problems.
3.3. Formulating overall marketing strategy for the commercial areas and other assets at all the Authority’s sites.
3.4. Setting pricing policy for use in the Authority’s property.
