I heard that I am eligible for a tax refund upon my from Egypt. Is this true

Passengers crossing over to Egypt must pay the transit fee.

Passengers staying in the Taba Hilton Hotel area, are exempt from this fee.

Obtaining an exemption is dependent on submitting documents attesting to your staying in the area.

A passenger who paid the transit fee at the time of crossing over to Egypt, will be entitled to a refund, upon his return to Israel though the Taba Terminal, upon submitting the following documents:

1.   The original receipt of the payment of the transit fee.

2.   A Passport

3.  An original invoice from the Taba Hilton Hotel, in the name of the passenger, attesting to his sojourn in the Taba area during the entire period of the visit.

A passenger who stayed for a few days at the Taba Hilton Hotel and then continued on to Sinai, even if only for a few hours, is not eligible for a refund.
