1. Travelers crossing by vehicle - for your information, on the Jordanian side you will have to purchase third party insurance. It is recommended to purchase complementary insurance in Israel - this can be done at the MEMSI (Israel Automobile Club) branch at the Terminal - as the insurance indemnity / compensation is lower in Jordan that the insurance indemnity / compensation in Israel.
2. It is prohibited to cross over to Jordan by motorcycle or bicycle, but entry from Jordan on a motorcycle is permitted.
3. It is prohibited to enter Jordan carrying firearms or ammunition.
4. Taxis and rented vehicles are not permitted to cross between the two countries.
5. It is recommended to get hold of a list of essential telephone numbers for your trip.
Recommendations for those traveling to Jordan and returning to Israel
1. Check the validity of your passport, it must be valid for at least 6 months.
2. In order to save standing in queues it is recommended to pay the transit fee at the Post Office Bank.
3. For those departing in private vehicles, ensure that your driving license is valid and that your vehicle is not under lien or mortgage.
4. For passengers in private vehicles, it is recommended to return to Israel early.
5. Ensure that there are no ammunition, magazines, empty shells or firearms in your baggage.
6. It is recommended to park your vehicle in the parking lot adjacent to the terminal.
7. While at the terminal, ensure that you keep your personal belongings close to you and do not leave your luggage unattended.
8. Ensure that any duty free items purchased do not exceed the amount permitted by Customs (the Regulations appear on signs at the Duty Free Shop).
9. Should any problem arise during the crossing process, you may request the assistance of the Duty Manager
10. Follow the instructions of the ushers and the public address system at the terminal.
11. Ensure that you adhere to the laws of the Ministry of Agriculture (appearing on signboards at the Terminal) and refrain from bringing in contraband goods.
