The Allenby border crossing (which the names committee has recently decided to rename "the King Hussein Bridge"), is the major passenger and cargo terminal serving the Palestinian population on the West Bank, as well as other users to a lesser extent.
For years, the terminal has been operated jointly by Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority, both in times of relative calm as well as in the throes of crises and security incidents.
During 2007 there was a 21 percent increase in general passenger traffic, and a significant 34 percent increase in tourist traffic.
We look forward to calm times and to an increase in passenger traffic, and hope to continue providing an appropriate level of service to the public using the terminal.
Best wishes,
Yonatan Dotan
