Guide For The Departures

At the entrance to the airport you will go through the magnetometer gate and from there you proceed to the security check desks, to the left of the entrance.  You must report to the checking desk with everything you are taking on the flight and show your identity card, passport or driving license.  From there you will continue to the counter of the company you are flying with, to check in for the flight.  On completing this process you can wait in the hall until the flight is called.

After the security check, passengers on international flights will be directed to the passport control and customs desks.  From there you can proceed to the duty free shop and also enjoy the snack bar service.  Haifa Airport also provides a  service enabling you to pick up the duty free goods purchased when leaving the country upon you return.

At the exit gates to the aircraft, you must show your boarding pass and identity document, or passport for passengers on international flights.  Transfer to the aircraft is on foot, a walk of about 30 m.

Disabled passengers will board the plane before other passengers, accompanied by a representative of the aviation company, on a special cart.  Their personal wheelchairs will be stored in the baggage hold.

Baby strollers can be handed over at the door of the plane.

The Israel Airports Authority recommends to the passengers departing on domestic flights to arrive at the airports about an hour and a half  prior to scheduled departure time. For international flights, they should arrive two hours before departure.

Vehicles can be parked in the parking lot next to the airport.

It is advisable to confirm flight times with the aviation company, a day in advance.

Please note that check-in for domestic flights stops 15 minutes before departure, and for international flights, 30 minutes before departure.

People accompanying passengers

People accompanying passengers can only enter the Domestic Departures Hall, and in any case will not be allowed to go through the exit gates to the plane.

Unaccompanied children

Unaccompanied children will go through the normal passenger process, accompanied by a representative of the company they are flying with, and at the company’s responsibility.  After boarding the plane, the child becomes the responsibility of the air crew, until met by the person designated in the destination country.
