Recommendations for inbound passengers
 

Please keep all forms relevant to your entry into Israel, to be presented at the border control counters when you exit the country.

 

Tip – For passengers continuing to Arab countries, except Egypt and Jordan, it is recommended to ensure that your passports are not stamped by the Israeli authorities.

 

For your information – The initial permit to stay in Israel is for three months. Any extension of your stay must be stamped in your passport.

 

Former Israeli citizens take note: If you do not have a document from the Israeli authorities abroad, attesting to your having waived your citizenship, you are required by law to enter and exit the country using your Israeli passport.

 

The tourist information center is located at the town center. In addition, there is a booklet with useful information for tourists available at the Airport.

 
There is a currency exchange counter at the Airport.
 
Complaints regarding lost or damaged baggage can be submitted at the relevant airline’s counters.
 

Goods to be declared – Electrical appliances and video cameras only must be declared, by filling out a declaration form which can be obtained at the customs counter. Upon leaving the country, the declaration form must be presented, together with the goods, to the customs inspector.

 

Tourists may be required to deposit a guarantee on valuable goods, which will be refunded upon their departure from the country and presenting the items to the customs inspector.

 

Tourists purchasing goods worth $50 and over at shops registered with the Ministry of Tourism, are eligible for a discount of 5% and a VAT refund upon leaving the country.

Ensure that you receive a VAT invoice carrying the following symbols ……… Any other invoice will be rejected. The invoice, together with the goods purchased, must be sealed and packed in your hand luggage when arriving at the Airport.As soon as you arrive at the Airport, go to the bank. The bank will check, authorize and sign the VAT invoice, and refund the VAT to you in US dollars, at the representative rate.

 
There is no need for inoculations prior to arrival in Israel.
 

Taxis and hotel transport services. Eilat Airport is located in the center of the town. For passengers arriving through package tours, transport from the Airport is generally provided by the tour operators.

 

At Eilat and Ovda Airports there are cafeterias, souvenir shops, a Stern jewelry shop and a duty free shop.

 

There are public telephones operated by prepaid cards. These cards can be purchased from a machine located on the spot.

 

Smoking in the Airport is prohibited, except in the placed designated for this purpose.

 
The Airports are geared to provide services for disabled passengers, such as: Wide toilet stalls for the disabled, lowered telephones, elevators and transport to and from the aircraft
