The Security Unit at Eilat Airport guards the airport in order to ensure safe flights for all the passengers taking off and landing. The security methods involved in protecting the passengers are based on advanced technological devices.

In order to ensure the security of the flight, all Eilat Airport outbound passengers undergo a security check which includes an inspection of baggage intended for the hold of the aircraft, an inspection of hand luggage and a body search.

Domestic flights

Make sure to arrive at the terminal about an hour before departure time. We recommend putting nametags on your baggage and removing all old tags in order to prevent mishaps.

International flights

Make sure to arrive at the terminal about three hours before departure time. We recommend putting nametags on your baggage and removing all old tags in order to prevent mishaps.

It is prohibited carry on your person or in your hand luggage, or in your suitcase, sharp objects such as penknives, scissors, files, knives, etc. Furthermore, weapon-like toys are likewise prohibited. These items will not be authorized for flight.

If need be, items of this type should be packed into the baggage to be checked into the hold of the aircraft.

o         Passengers with pacemakers are requested to inform the security personnel of the fact prior to the check.

o         Pregnant women are requested to inform the security personnel of the fact prior to the check.

o         Passengers with metal inserts are requested to inform the security personnel of the fact prior to the check.

o         Photographic films of type ASA 1600 are liable to be damaged by the X-ray machine. Please inform the security personnel of the fact prior to going through the X-ray check.

o         In certain cases, for security purposes, a special security check may have to be carried out on an item and, as a result, the item will be flown separately.

Entry into the terminal with a firearm is expressly prohibited.

It is prohibited to carry firearms or teargas onto the aircraft in hand luggage or in baggage checked into the hold of the aircraft.

Likewise, it is prohibited to carry gas bottles of any kind onto the aircraft

Firearm owners are requested to make sure that no weapons, magazines, ammunition, flares etc remain in their luggage. A passenger in whose baggage weapons are found, will be held back and he is liable to miss his flight.

Do not leave personal effects or baggage unattended.

Keep an eye out for suspicious objects, cars or people and report them to the security personnel.

In order to complete the security check quickly and efficiently, persons accompanying the travelers are requested not to interfere in the security check process. The security check is intended for passengers only. After the completion of the security check, accompaniers may approach the check-in counters with the passengers. There may be cases where, for security reasons, passengers will have to part company with their accompanying friends/relatives.

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be asked to present an identification  document to the security person.
