The Firefighting and Rescue Dept. at Eilat Airport consists of 23 firefighters, headed by the Firefighting and Rescue Commander. The Department. has three fire engines, an ambulance and firefighting and rescue equipment at its disposal, and is active during the hours of operation of the Airport. The Fire Station is situated alongside the runway and near the parking apron. |

The Ground Operations Management Dept. deals with, plans and authorizes Eilat and Ovda Airports flight schedules. The entire aircraft parking apron at the Airport is under the responsibility of the Department. The Department is responsible for safety matters in the operational area, and provides aeronautical information service to pilots and airlines such as: Meteorological data, flight path information, information regarding the destination airport and airport of origin. The control tower is responsible for the aviation traffic in the Eilat Airport air space. The Eilat Airport air space is defined as the area stretching from Kibbutz Samar north of Eilat, up to Taba on the Egyptian border, with the eastern limits being the border with Jordan and the western limits being the border with Egypt. |

The Security Department deals with the securing of the Airport compound and the checking of outbound passengers.
The security of the Airport compound is under the responsibility of the Airports Authority’s security people, and the passenger check is carried out by Arkia security personnel, with Arkia, acting as a subcontractor of the Airports Authority on this subject. The Department operates 24 hours a day.

The Maintenance Department handles the preventive and ongoing maintenance of the facilities at Eilat and Ovda Airports. The Department handles the maintenance of the various navigational aids, the runway illumination, as well as Terminal, parking apron and runway repairs. |
