Guidelines for Taxi Passengers

The Taxi companies at Ben Gurion Airport operate under supervision of the Israel Airports Authority.

The Taxi  Stations and dispatcher's counter  at Terminal 3 are located on Level G of the Multi Level Road.

It is recommended not to use random Taxi services.

 

 

The taxi rank and the dispatcher's station at Terminal 3 are on Level G of the Multi Level Road, close to exit gate no' 03 of the Greeters Hall.

In order to be referred to a Taxicab, you must go through the dispatcher’s station.

 

Services available for arriving  passengers:

 

Taxis (special fare)

Passengers wishing to take a taxi will do so through the dispatcher.

 

Shared Taxi  Service (on regular routes)

Passengers wishing to travel by shared taxicab (known in Hebrew as " sherut") will exit the Greeters Hall through exit gate no' 02. 

 

Pre - Ordered Taxis

Passengers who ordered a Taxicab  in advance will meet the driver at the meeting point located at  the Greeters Hall  neer the Pre Ordered taxi counter closa to exit gate ne' 02 .

 The driver will accompany the passengers to the cab and drive them to the desired destination.

 

If you arrive at Ben Gurion Airport by taxi, you should get off on level 3 of the multi level road, in front of the Check-In Hall, where you will begin the flight check-in process.

 

Special Fares

Hadar Lod operates special fare taxis from BGN to all parts of the country.

Amal operates a special fare taxi service to Haifa, the Krayot and the north of the country. The service operates 24 hours a day.

Rate 2 (25% extra) will apply in the following cases:

Night journeys between 21:00 and 05:59 the next day.

Eves of festivals and holidays and Independence Day, from 13:00 until 05:59 on the day after the festival or holiday.

An additional NIS 5.00 will be paid on every journey departing from BGN.

An additional NIS 2.7 will be applicable for each piece of luggage.

1.              Journey by Taximeter

             By law, every special fare journey requires the operation of the taximeter.

 

2.              Journey by Price List

             On out of town trips, for passengers demanding to know the cost of the trip in advance, the driver will quote a price from the pricelist prepared by the Ministry of Transport and which is installed in the taximeter.

 

3.              Added charge

             There is an extra 25% charge on night journeys between 21:01 and 05:59 the next day, as well as on Saturdays and Israeli holidays and Festivals, and on Independence Day,  from 16:00 on Friday afternoon or on the afternoon before the holiday or festival, until 05:29 on the day after the Sabbath or the holiday or Festival.

 

4.              Waiting charge

 While the taxi is waiting, when the meter is not running, the passenger will pay NIS 75 per full hour of waiting, or NIS 18.75 for each quarter hour.

 

5.              Passenger Baggage

             The fare includes one piece of hand luggage (a piece of hand luggage is as defined by the Airlines). For each additional piece of luggage, the passenger will pay  3.4 NIS

6.              Transport of freight

             The cost of transport of goods that are not baggage, is not regulated.

 

7.              A ride in which the number of passengers exceeds two entails a fee.
A ride in which the number of passengers exceeds two, a fixed price will be collected in addition to 3.8 NIS.

 

8.             In a ride per passenger’s request via 6 highway through Hotze Israel (Road no. 6), an additional fixed price of 13 NIS will be collected. 

 

9.              The Rights and Obligations of the Taxicab Driver

 

a.       The Taxicab Driver must convey any passenger and his baggage.

b.       The Taxicab Driver may refuse to convey any passenger whose clothes are filthy, or who is not dressed at all, or who is mentally disturbed, or who is inebriated, or who is smoking a lighted cigarette, cigar or pipe.

c.          A Taxicab Driver will not convey a passenger carrying a loaded firearm, unless that passenger is on official business that requires the carrying of a loaded firearm.

d.         A Taxicab Driver will not convey, on a special fare trip, an additional passenger other than the passenger who ordered the taxi and his companions, unless the passenger requested it, and in any case the fare will not exceed that appearing on the taximeter.

e.         A Taxicab Driver may convey two children, who are under 5 years of age, over and above the number of passengers allowed in his cab in accordance with his license.

f.           A Taxicab Driver will not operate the radio or other device blaring out loud music or sounds, should the passenger request him not to.

g.       The passenger is obliged to wear a seatbelt for the entire duration of the journey in the taxicab.

h.         By law, it is prohibited to smoke in a taxicab.

 

10.           Process of Submitting a Complaint

 

             A taxicab passenger who wishes to complain about the taxi services, will submit a complaint in writing to the Ministry of Transport, Office of the Ministry’s Comptroller and the Office of the Public Complaints Commissioner:

             The complaint will contain, in addition to the details of the event, the registration number of the taxicab, and / or the number appearing on the sign on the roof of the taxicab, the name of the driver, or a description of him, the date and time of the event, the place it occurred, the printed receipt, and the names of witnesses, should there be any.
