Services for Passengers with Special Needs
 

Terminal 3 was designed with a view to improving service for all passengers while providing thoughtful solutions for the disabled and enabling them to enjoy the full range of airport services in person and independently.

Employees of the various airlines are available for assistance and service according to the policy of each airline.

 

The arrivals and departures track is easy, convenient and accessible to the disabled and enables a constant flow of traffic in either direction.

 

All car parks have designated handicapped parking places specially located for easy and convenient access to the Terminal building.

 

The Terminal's elevators are designed for use by the disabled, with call buttons placed in low positions and recorded announcements of the services available on each floor.

 

 

All arrival and departure passenger routes are fitted with automatic walkways to facilitate passenger traffic.

Wheelchairs are provided free of charge by the airlines. They are available for use as far as the departure gate for outgoing flights, and for incoming flights immediately on disembarking from the airplane.

 

Wheelchair passengers will embark the airplane first (before other passengers) with the assistance of airline attendants, and will leave the airplane last on landing.

 

The airlines operate electrically operated cars for the convenience of disabled passengers. The service is provided free of charge according to the policy of each airline.

Public telephones in Terminal 3 include phone stations specially designed for the use of disabled passengers.

 

Signs and directions in Terminal 3 comply with internationally accepted standards and signs.

 

Disabled rest rooms are easily accessible and adapted for wheelchair access as per the requisite Israeli standard.

 

Terminal 3 is fitted with drinking fountains specially designed for disabled use.

 

Desks, VIP rooms and shops provide a solution to the special needs of disabled passengers.

 

The service counters in Terminal 3 – Information, Border Control, Taxi Dispatch – and the Tourist Service Desk are all equipped with special service points for the hearing impaired.

 

Emergency warnings for the hearing impaired are transmitted by means of flashing lights in the different airport halls.

 

Passengers with special needs are requested to inform the airlines in advance of their flight.

Information about services provided at Ben Gurion International Airport is available via operator response, computerized voice response and fax.

 

Arriving Passengers may order a porter service in order to unload their luggage from the conveyor and carry it outside of the Terminal.

 

The Cost of the Service:

Regular Trolley - 50.00 NIS

Large Trolley - 100 NIS.

 

You may order the service at the service counter, located at the entrance to the Arrival Hall, after the Passport Control (near the Self-service trolleys).

 

Terminal 3 railway station is accessible to the disabled and equipped to provide service to disabled passengers:

 

  • Purchase of tickets at disabled friendly counters and automatic machines.
  • Platform to lift passengers on/off the train.
  • Thick yellow line to demarcate the station platform.
  • Special spacious elevators to take passengers from/to the railway station to/from the terminal.
  • Wide aisles at entry/exit gates at the station.
