The maintenance division is the entity responsible at BGA for the maintenance of the equipment and systems at BGA, at internal airports and at border terminals. The Division reports directly to the BGA Managing Director.

The Division comprises about 200 employees, engineers, practical engineers, technicians and professional workers. In addition to the integral personnel, the Division is supported by a large number of contractors, particularly in disciplines that are not mission critical or operational that can shut down the airport in the event of a breakdown.
The Division is a flexible and lightning-response skeletal entity, so that calls are received and responses provided, 24 hours a day, to breakdowns, ongoing maintenance and development work, as required.
The breakdown control center in the maintenance division operates for the purpose of receiving reports of hazards and breakdowns, and coordinates between the personnel of the division and provides a response until the completion of the repair.
